Blue Whale Photo Illustration
I recently had a request for a photo illustration of a blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus). A photo illustration is an illustration based on photographs, perhaps with some alteration on the computer to enhance certain aspects of the photograph(s) for illustrative purposes. Here is a what I made: a photo illustration of a blue whale swimming through the open ocean, based on a large model replica of a blue whale and an actual photograph of open ocean water. Please do not mistake this for an actual photograph!
