We were scheduled to board the M\/V Polar Star late in the day which gave us time to make a whirlwind tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park. We saw some forest, a couple of peat bogs, a beautiful lake and some of the rocky coastline along the Beagle Channel. The coastline reminded me of central California in many ways. It was obvious to me that the Park is beautiful and large, but our limited time gave us only a glance. I felt the way I imagine many day visitors to Yosemite Valley feel: “Wow, time to go already?”.<\/p>\n
