{"id":4484,"date":"2011-01-31T10:32:55","date_gmt":"2011-01-31T17:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/log\/?p=4484"},"modified":"2020-03-08T07:40:20","modified_gmt":"2020-03-07T23:40:20","slug":"sunrise-sandstone-and-shadow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/log\/sunrise-sandstone-and-shadow.html","title":{"rendered":"Sunrise, Sandstone and Shadow, Valley of Fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Valley of Fire sure lived up to its name on this morning!<\/p>\n<p>I was driving along the main road in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/valley_of_fire_state_park_photo.html\">Valley of Fire State Park<\/a> at sunrise on Sunday, heading toward the White Domes area when I saw the top of a impressive sandstone wall receiving the first rays of morning light. The orange\/red\/yellow color was so intense it stopped me in my tracks. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/spotlight.php?img=26481\">moon was just setting over the top of the wall<\/a> as well. I decided to forget about my original plan for a sunrise hike across the mesa and see what photos I could make of this wall. This sort-of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/lightbox.php?x=self_portrait__weird__subject\">self-portrait<\/a> with my tripod was my favorite of the bunch.
