{"id":588,"date":"2008-12-12T16:21:33","date_gmt":"2008-12-13T00:21:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/portfolio\/sandhill-cranes-at-sunset-bosque-del-apache\/"},"modified":"2023-12-24T10:57:44","modified_gmt":"2023-12-24T02:57:44","slug":"sandhill-cranes-at-sunset-bosque-del-apache","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/log\/sandhill-cranes-at-sunset-bosque-del-apache.html","title":{"rendered":"Photo of Sandhill Cranes at Sunset, Bosque del Apache"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On our recent trip to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/bosque_del_apache_national_wildlife_refuge_photo.html\">Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/stubbs\/\">Skip<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seaimages.org\/\">Ken<\/a> and I were treated to several fantastic sunsets as we watched the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/sandhill_crane_photo.html\">sandhill cranes<\/a> (<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/lightbox.php?sp=Grus_canadensis\">Grus canadensis<\/a><\/em>) flying in from nearby corn fields to roost for the night in shallow ponds, where they are protected from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oceanlight.com\/lightbox.php?sp=Canis_latrans\">coyotes<\/a>.
