Timelapse Movie of Oceanside Pier at Sunset

Filed under: California, Photography, San Diego, Time Lapse, Video on 3/5/2010

Timelapse video of dusk and sunset at the Oceanside Pier, California, as tourists play on the beach and surf fish. Shot with a still camera, my lucky flipflops, and a pack of Altoids. Finished on our new iMac. Gotta love coastal Southern California.

  3. Really cool, Phil! What camera did you use for that?

  4. Thanks Mark. I’m using a Canon 1DsII for these time lapses. The full res version is 1920×1080 and looks incredibly detailed on a big monitor.

  5. Very nice Phil. Love it when the pier lights come on.
I’m curious, how many frames did you shoot and over how long a time span?

  6. Hi Steven, that was about 1400 frames over a period of about 90 minutes. I generally shoot about 4 or 5 seconds per frame. I don’t have a lot of experience with this yet, though!
