Fall Colors, The Subway, Zion National Park, Utah
On the approach to The Subway in Zion National Park is this intriguing erosion slot, about 4″ wide. Water rushes through it, blurred in this photograph. The maples and cottonwoods were in their full fall color and their fallen leaves were everywhere.

Wow - I’ve seen many versions of this scene, but this is my favorite by far. Love the angle and the really soft light on the wet rock.

Russ — many thanks! I often forget to look for these simple scenes, and am glad I took the time to shoot this, it is my favorite image of the trip.

Beautiful. This shot was one of my primary goals for the trip, and the conditions were perfect. Very nice composition.

The overcast skies meant the subway was blah, but the falls and this slot really looked good. Thanks!
